The University of Michigan-Dearborn Player of the Week is men’s basketball guard Cody Kegley, it was announced on Wednesday.
The junior from Yale, Mich., helped UM-Dearborn split a pair of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference games to get back into the race for a WHAC postseason tournament bid.
In a loss to Madonna University last Wednesday, Kegley hit six 3-pointers, finishing with a career-high 31 points on 9-of-19 shooting while adding six rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Kegley followed with a 12-point effort against No. 13 Indiana Tech to help the Wolverines upset the Warriors 84-69.
Nearing the midway point of the season, Kegley has recorded a team-high 216 points, including 30 makes from deep and leads the team, shooting 86.6 percent from the free-throw line.
Kegley and the Wolverines host No. 6 Cornerstone University at 7:30 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
