DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn Player of the Week is women’s basketball guard Ro’Zhane Wells, it was announced on Wednesday.
The sophomore from Ypsilanti, Mich., is the fourth women’s basketball player to receive the honor this season.
Wells and the No. 23 Wolverines battled No. 3 Indiana Tech in a thrilling overtime game on Saturday. The Wolverines fell 81-79 in overtime after a 3-pointer for UM-Dearborn in the final moments of regulation sent the game to the extra frame.
Wells led the Wolverines with 19 points while adding 13 rebounds for a double-double in a season-high. She also added two blocks from her point guard position.
The Wolverines play their final road contest of the regular season against Cornerstone University at 5:30 pm Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
