Dearborn, MI - The volleyball team looked to build on winning 8 of their last 9 matches Wednesday night in the WHAC opener against Aquinas. Unfortunately for the Wolves, Aquinas wanted to start the conference season off on the right foot as well. The Saints (9-5, 1-0) downed the Wolves (9-7, 0-1) 3-1 at the Field House. Things looked good early for Michigan-Dearborn as they won the first set 25-17 behind the hitting of junior Tiffany Brufladt and the setting of freshman Allie Kyle. The momentum from winning the first set did not carry over the rest of the match. Aquinas took the next three sets (25-15, 25-14, 25-14) to win the match. Brufladt led the Wolves with 11 kills and also chipped in with 12 digs. Kyle had 28 assists playing in her first match in weeks due to an injury. Senior Michelle Porada led the Wolves with 16 digs.
