Dearborn, MI - Coming off their first victory as a varsity team, the Wolves
hosted Davenport University Tuesday night at Dearborn High School. This contest didn't go as well as last game as Davenport came out on top by a score of 3-1.
When the game began, the Wolves took control quickly and set the pace at their level. They kept the ball on Davenport's
side for quite some time led by Matt McCourt on the attack.
At the 21st
minute, while on the counter attack, Davenport got on the
score sheet with a rebound that went past Andrew Pietrzak. The goalkeeper was unable to see the shot due
to the bodies in front of the net. The
shot from Bernard Brnada came from just a few yards out. From this point, DU didn't turn back.
The first half came to a close with DU up by just the one
goal, and the shots were 6-3 for the away team as well.
In the second half, attempting to get off to a quick start,
the Wolves found themselves piling up fouls quick and early. Things never turned back from there as DU
kept the attack on for the second half and scored twice more before the Wolves were able to score one.
Down 3-0, the Wolves finally scored when Husein Dakroub came
off the bench and scored with just minutes to go in the game. Other than that goal, and a beautiful header
that went just wide by Matt Conrad, the Wolves didn't really control much of
the offensive pace last night.
They will look to rebound from this loss on Saturday
October 6th, 2012 when they travel to Cornerstone University. Kickoff is set for 3pm ET.
