Grand Rapids, MI - The WHAC Cross Country Championship was held Saturday morning in Grand Rapids, MI. The meet featured all 10 WHAC schools that have cross country as a varsity sport. The Wolverines ran hard as this would be their final competition of the season. The men's team finished in 7th place while the women's team finished in 8th place.
The men's team was led by freshman Ryan Pickell who finished in 39th place overall. Pickell finished the 8000 meter race in 28 minutes and 13 seconds. Senior Quinn Osgood finished in 44th place with a time of 28 minutes and 26 seconds. Senior Mark Waterbury finished in 51st place, while sophomore Garrett Neumann finished in 59th place. Aquinas College won the championship while Indiana Tech came in second place.
On the women's side, freshman Julia Kassem led the Wolverines by finishing in 11th place overall with a time of 19 minutes and 16 seconds in 5000 meter race. Senior Erika Antanovich would be the next Wolverine to cross the finish line coming in 63rd place. Cornerstone University won the WHAC Championship while Indina Tech would finish in second place.
