Dearborn, MI - The home court bounce did not go the Wolverines way at the field house as the Wolverines lost the game in overtime 64-60. Bad luck hit the Wolverines at the buzzer in regulation as a game winning layup by Andrea Collins was stuck in perfect balance on the back of the rim leading to OT.
The Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines women's basketball team (3-16) dominated the second half against Lourdes University (Ohio) Gray Wolves (4-16) at the Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon after a rough first half. Lourdes was coming off a heartbreaking buzzer beater loss to Madonna University in their last game.
The Wolverines started the game well but would go into the locker room down 29-21 at the half.
The Gray Wolves would take a 38-32 lead halfway through the 2nd half. Wolverines would answer with a 17-7 run to take their first lead since the opening few minutes; 49-45.
Late calls against the Wolverines would prove costly as they relinquished a 55-51 lead in the last 36 seconds to go to overtime.
The Gray Wolves would dominate the overtime as they beat the Wolverines 64-60.
Center Jalissa Williams would lead the Wolverines with 21 points and 11 rebounds. It is Willams13th double-double of the season. Taryn Hampton led the charge for the Gray Wolves with 20 points and 11 rebounds with 10 free throws made.
Wolverines next game is at home against Northwestern Ohio on January 29th at 5:30 PM while the Gray Wolves visit Concordia (MI) on the same day.
