Dearborn, MI - The Wolverines (3-22) came out gunning hoping to win the last home game for seniors Danielle Cowart and Brittany Teets. Michigan-Dearborn jumped out to a quick 12-4 lead just a few minutes into the game. The Saints (21-6) proved too much though; outscoring the Wolverines 42-23 in the last 10 minutes of the game on their way to the 77-69 win.
Danielle Cowart would do her part by hitting 3 shots from long distance en route to the Wolverines 33-26 lead into the half.
The Saints began the 2nd half running half court traps on defense but the Wolverines kept find holes in it to extend the lead to 46-35. The Saints would answer with a 20-4 run to stop the Wolverines momentum and take their first lead of the second half. The Saints run would finally be ended with a pair of free throws each by Andrea Collins and Jalissa Williams for Michigan-Dearborn. A jumper by Brittany Teets would bring the Wolverines to 57-56. Siena Heights would answer with a 16-7 run to extend their lead to 10 on their way to the win.
Danielle Cowart would finish with 11 points in her last home game at Michigan-Dearborn while Brittany Teets would chip in 21 on 8 of 15 shooting from the field. Jalissa Williams would barely miss another double double finishing with 20 points and 9 rebounds.
The Wolverines next game is at Davenport University on February 19th. Tip-off is at 5:30 PM
