Grand Rapids, MI - The WHAC Cross Country Championship was held Saturday at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, MI. The women's cross country team finished in ninth place overall. Freshman Caroline Mahalak led the Wolverines with a time of 20:51.8. Three Michigan-Dearborn runners finished close to each other as sophomore Emily Eccleton, freshman Kaylee Kozlowski, and senior Megan McDonald finished within nine seconds of each other. Senior Mallory Nemeth and freshman Amy Bhullar rounded out the team's finishers. That was the last meet of the season for the cross country team. The team loses one senior, McDonald, and increased their team size this past season to ten runners. Injuries and illness were difficult to overcome for the team as almost every runner missed a race due to injury or illness. The team will look to get healthy in the off-season and continue to add runners for the future.
