Sylvania, OH - The men's lacrosse team fell 20-8 to Lourdes University on Wednesday night. Michigan-Dearborn (2-6, 0-3) fell behind 1-0 early, but Gerald Belanger (FR/Plymouth, MI) tied the score two minutes later. Lourdes (10-2, 2-1) finished the first quarter with three straight goals. The Gray Wolves continued their offensive surge scoring the first three goals in the second quarter and six goals overall in the quarter. The Wolverines finished the quarter with three consecutive goals but still trailed 10-5 at halftime.
Michigan-Dearborn was able to cut the deficit to four goals on two Matthew Rosteck (SO/Commerce Township, MI) goals in the third quarter, but Lourdes would score nine of the next ten goals in winning 20-8. Rosteck and Donald Roda (JR/Harrison Township, MI) each had two goals for the Wolverines while Andrew Popp (SR/Southgate, MI) made four saves in the loss. The lacrosse team will look to get back on track when they travel to Dayton, Ohio on Sunday to take on the University of Dayton Flyers at 2:00pm.
