Beverly Hills, MI - The men's lacrosse team played their final home game of the season Wednesday night hosting the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils. The Wolverines jumped out on top early with goals by Donald Roda (JR/Harrison Township, MI) and Mitchell Stapleton (SO/Detroit, MI ). The Blue Devils tied it up scoring two goals less than two minutes apart. Stapleton would go on to score two more goals giving Michigan-Dearborn a 4-2 lead. Lawrence Tech ended the first quarter by scoring three goals in the last two minutes of the quarter to take a 5-4 lead into the second quarter. The Blue Devils would carry the momentum from the end of the first quarter into the second quarter as they scored the first five goals of the quarter. Michigan-Dearborn would score two late goals in the second quarter as Lawrence Tech led 10-6 at halftime.
The Blue Devils took control of the game in the third quarter by outscoring the Wolverines 7-2 and taking a 17-8 lead into the fourth quarter. The goal scoring slowed down in the fourth quarter as Lawrence Tech outscored Michigan-Dearborn 4-3 to win 21-11. Stapleton had three goals and one assist while Brendan Salva (FR/Washington Township, MI ) also scored three times. Andrew Popp (SR/Southgate, MI) made nine saves in the loss.
