Adrian, MI - The lacrosse team finished up their season on Sunday with a 14-7 loss to the Siena Heights University Saints. Siena Heights took an early 3-0 lead scoring three goals in the the first three and a half minutes of the game. Matthew Rosteck (SO/Commerce Township, MI) scored the first of his four goals to pull the Wolverines within two goals, but the Saints continued to build on their lead. Siena Heights took a 10-6 lead into halftime.
In the second half, goals were few and far between. After the two teams combined for 16 goals in the first half, they combined for just 5 goals in the second half with Siena Heights scoring four of those five goals to win 14-7. Rosteck would finish with four goals, while Donald Roda (JR/Harrison Township, MI) scored two goals. Andrew Popp (SR/Southgate, MI) made five saves. The loss ends the season for the lacrosse team which finished 2-9 overall. The team loses four seniors for next year (Popp, Andrew Dixon (SR/Grosse Ile, MI), Jeff Sebastian (SR/Novi, MI), and David Stephanoff (SR/Chesterfield, MI)), but has already signed a few players who will look to compete for playing time beginning next season.
