Dearborn, MI - The volleyball team looked to extend their winning streak to seven matches, but the visiting Indiana Tech Warriors had other ideas. Indiana Tech used a big run in the first set and never looked back as they swept the Wolverines 25-6, 25-16, and 25-11. Indiana Tech hit .359 and only committed 11 attacking errors in the match.
In the first set, Indiana Tech used a big run early to take a double digit lead, and Michigan-Dearborn never recovered as the Warriors took the first set 25-6. In the second set, the two teams battled back and forth including a long volley early in which the Wolverines won and appeared to have some momentum. Indiana Tech would continue battle and pulled away late in winning the second set 25-16. In the third set, the Warriors continued to attack well in winning the set 25-11 and the match 3-0.
Briann Alspaugh (JR/St. Louis MI) led Michigan-Dearborn with 5 kills while Shayla Smalls (SO/Canton, MI) had 8 digs. The volleyball team will return to action on Friday when they host the Concordia University Cardinals at 7:00pm.
