Dearborn, MI - The volleyball team lost in straight sets to the visiting Concordia University Cardinals on Friday night. Michigan-Dearborn, much like Wednesday night against Indiana Tech, started out slow losing the first set 25-9. The Wolverines would fight back in the second and third sets but fell 25-18 and 25-19 respectively in losing the match in straight sets. Concordia hit .314 for the match while Michigan-Dearborn hit .035. Seving also proved to be a part of the Cardinals success as they had 11 aces compared to the Wolverines 3 aces.
Katherine Nealy (SO/Southfield, MI) led the Michigan-Dearborn offense with 9 kills on just 14 attempts while fellow middle blocker Briann Alspaugh (JR/St. Louis MI) had 6 kills. Setter Daniella Barile (FR/Plymouth MI) had 18 assists in the loss. The volleyball team will hit the court again on Saturday when they play host to the Davenport University Panthers at 1:00pm.
