MUSKEGON, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Jayhawk Cross Country Invitational hosted by Muskegon Community College Friday in Muskegon, Mich.
The Wolverine men finished eighth out of 17 teams, while the women were ninth out of 12, as the teams continue to build towards the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships next month.
Alex Krasuski crossed the line in 38th place to lead the UM-Dearborn men in a time of 26 minutes, 57.95 seconds. Teammate Ryan Pickell was right behind him in 40th with a time of 27:02.85 seconds. Junior Sean Nowak was 78th in 27:53.33 and Nick Williamson took 86th in 28:00.99.
The top Wolverine time on the women's side came from Mickela Dela Cruz. She was 33rd with a time of 19:54.45, while Megan Seccombe (JR/Dearborn, MI) was 37th, crossing the line at the 20:11.27 mark. Catherine Miller (JR/Trenton, MI) also had a strong finish, taking 77th in a time of 21:17.30.
The Wolverines have one more tune up for the WHAC Championships when the teams travel to the Aquinas Invitational hosted by Aquinas College Nov. 22 at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.
