FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team fell to Indiana Institute of Technology in three sets in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match Wednesday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The Wolverines fell behind early in the first set and could not recover, while the second was a much tighter contest. The Warriors ran away with the third set as the line score finished 25-9, 25-19, 25-11. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 9-15 overall and 2-9 in the WHAC.
Katherine Nealy (SO/Southfield, MI), coming off a dominant defensive outing in the Wolverines' last match, led the offense for her team. Nealy recorded a team-high eight kills. Shayla Smalls (SO/Canton, MI) added five kills, while Colby DeMare (SR/Dearborn MI) finished with four.
The Wolverines stay on the road this weekend for a pair of WHAC contests, starting with a meeting at No. 10 Lourdes University at 7 p.m. Friday in Sylvania, Ohio.
