GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The 2016 University of Michigan-Dearbron cross country season came to a close at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships Saturday at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Wolverine men and women each finished eighth out of 10 teams at the event. The men finished with a score of 246, while the women recorded a 234.
On the men's side, Ryan Pickell crossed the line in his final race as a Wolverine in 46th place with a time of 27 minutes, 52.2 seconds. The next three Wolverines finished the race in quick succession, led by Sean Nowak in 62 with a time of 28.30.2. Alex Krasuski took 66th in 28:35.2, while Nick Williamson crossed the line in 28:53.1. The UM-Dearborn field was rounded out by Moad Yaseen in 80th, Sean Fisher in 87th and Jared Zella in 97th.
Megan Seccombe led the UM-Dearborn women with a time of 20:01.9 on the 5K course for 31st place. Mickaela Dela Cruz was 54th with a time of 20:51.5, while Catherine Miller took 74th in 21:55.4. The rest of the Wolverine field included Emily Rader in 82nd, Emily Eccleton in 83rd, Caroline Mahalak in 91 and Alyssa Harlow and Kaylee Kozlowski in 96th and 97th, respectively.
Pickell and Williamson for the men join Emily Rader for the women as seniors who raced for the final time at the WHAC Championships for the Wolverines.
