DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team placed Libero Raechel Warchock (SR/Jackson, MI) on the NAIA Scholar Athlete team, the second such honor for the senior, it was announced last week.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status, according to the NAIA.
The Jackson, Mich., native was also on the All-WHAC Academic Team, joined by freshman setter Daniella Barile (FR/Plymouth MI) as the Wolverine volleyball representative on the WHAC Champions of Character Team.
Warchock finished her final season playing in all 29 matches for the Wolverines, moving to the Libero position midway through the 2016 campaign. She totaled 267 total digs (2.9 per set), while adding 17 service aces.
