GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn fell behind by 10 points early in the second half, but the Wolverines took over from there, picking up a big Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Wolverines saw the Saints start the second half strong, but a 16-3 run for UM-Dearborn gave them the lead. The teams battled down the stretch, but big shots and late free throws led to a 63-56 win for the Wolverines, who improve to 13-7 overall and 7-5 in the WHAC. The win moves UM-Dearborn into fifth place in the league standings, leapfrogging Aquinas.
Jason Penn (JR/Detroit, MI) led the Wolverines with a strong night inside. He finished with a team-high 22 points on 11-of-13 shooting, while adding seven rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 26-of-51 from the field, 5-of-17 from deep and 6-of-15 from the free-throw line, while finishing with 11 assists and 15 turnovers.
