DEARBORN, Mich. - The 2017 University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball season gets going in less than two months, as head coach Eric Stark looks to keep pushing the Wolverines in a positive direction.
The 2017 schedule is set as the Wolverines will participate in three multi-team events, including the annual UM-Dearborn Early Bird event to open the season August 25-26 at the Fieldhouse. The Wolverines will play four games during the two-day event, going head-to-head with Goshen College, Fisk University, Carlow University and Judson University.
The following weekend, September 1-2, UM-Dearborn heads south to New Orleans for a two-day, four-match event hosted by Xavier University of Louisiana. The Wolverines head to Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, Ind., for four matches on October 13-14. Grace Bible College comes to the Fieldhouse for a non-conference match on October 10.
The 2017 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference season gets underway for the Wolverines with a home match against Marygrove College on September 6 at the Fieldhouse. Conference newcomer Rochester College hosts the Wolverines on September 16 in the first WHAC matchup between the programs. UM-Dearborn will host eight WHAC contests in 2017, including three in four days from October 18-21, which will include a visit from reigning conference champion, Lourdes University.
The Wolverines close the regular season with five of six matches at the Fieldhouse, including contests with the University of Northwestern Ohio on October 28 and Lawrence Tech on November 1 before the start of the WHAC Postseason Tournament, which will be contested at campus sites and run from November 4-11.
