  • Offense Clicks as Men’s Ice Hockey Sweeps Lawrence Tech

    DEARBORN, Mich—The 19th ranked men’s ice hockey team returned to action for the first time since November 20th, and the rest appeared to help the offense find their groove. UM-Dearborn scored 12 goals in the two games as they swept # 20 Lawrence Tech in a home-and-home Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference series. On Saturday at Lawrence Tech, sophomore Brendan West had a hat trick while freshman Chance Mathews had two goals and an assist as the Wolverines won 7-1. Seniors Billy Brock and Mathieu LaForest each had three assists in the game. Sophomore Kayden Pickles made 24 saves in earning the victory.

    Dearborn, Mich. – The men’s basketball team hosted the Concordia University Cardinals in a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up Saturday played at Henry Ford College. After dropping a close non-conference game to Grace Christian on Wednesday, UM-Dearborn was looking to get on track against Concordia. Unfortunately for the Wolverines, they ran into a hot-shooting Cardinal’s team. Concordia’s Thomas Hronis made nine three-pointers as he scored a game-high 31 points as Concordia won 88-69.

    Dearborn, Mich. – The women’s basketball team hosted the Concordia University Cardinals in a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up Saturday at Henry Ford College. Concordia started fast scoring 28 points in the first quarter and held off a second quarter flurry by UM-Dearborn to win 74-54.

  • Men’s Basketball Drops a Close One at Grace Christian

    Wyoming, Mich. – The men’s basketball team traveled to Wyoming, Michigan, to take on the Grace Christian University Tigers in a non-conference game.  Grace Christian started out quickly and built an 11 point lead at two different times in the first half.  UM-Dearborn would battle back and cut the deficit the five points at halftime.  Back-to-back three-pointers by the Wolverines got them within one point, but the Tigers would score the final four points of the half to lead 36-31.
  • Women’s Basketball Falls to Marian in a Non-Conference Game

    Indianapolis, Ind. – The women’s basketball team took to the road on Wednesday night to battle the 9th ranked Marian Knights in a non-conference game.  Marian started quickly by scoring the game’s first eight points.  UM-Dearborn would settle in and close the gap to just four points, but the Knights would regain the eight-point lead after the first quarter.

  • Siena Heights Downs Men’s Basketball

    Livonia, Mich. – The Siena Heights University Saints knocked off the host UM-Dearborn Wolverines in a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference men’s basketball game on Saturday played at the PAAAC on the campus of Madonna University.  The Saints used solid free throw shooting in the first half to build a 13 point lead at the break.  Siena Heights went 14-18 from the free throw line in the first half while UM-Dearborn went 4-9 from the charity stripe in the first half as they trailed 41-28 at halftime.

    Livonia, Mich. – The women’s basketball team hosted the Siena Height University Saints on Saturday in a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up played at Madonna University’s PAAC.  Siena Heights would start out strong scoring the game’s first six points and taking a 12-5 lead into the second quarter.  The Saints would again score the first six points in the second quarter building a 14 point lead.  UM-Dearborn would chip away at the lead as the quarter progressed cutting the lead to nine at halftime.  
  • Women’s Ice Hockey Wins in a Shootout over Grand Valley State

    Dearborn, Mich. – The UM-Dearborn women’s ice hockey team took to the ice on Friday night against the Grand Valley State Lakers.  After defeating Concordia 5-0 on Thursday, the Wolverines were looking to go 2-0 on the week.  The Lakers had other ideas as they took a 1-0 lead with a goal with just 55 seconds remaining the in the first period.  Grand Valley goalie Ally Kennedy made 12 saves in the first period as UM-Dearborn outshot the Lakers 12-5 in the opening stanza.
