Dearborn, MI - Three days after the men's basketball team captured their first win of the season, the women's basketball team followed suit Wednesday night by defeating the visiting Marygrove College Mustangs 71-37. Marygrove (2-8, 0-5) would take a 2-0 lead and that was the only time they led the entire game as the Wolverines shot 40% for the game and held the Mustangs to just 26% shooting. Michigan-Dearborn (1-7, 1-4) outrebounded Marygrove 47-33 and also attempted 10 more free throws than the Mustangs.
Interim Women's Basketball Head Coach Dymetrius Ware has announced the winners of the women's basketball weekly awards. Each week Coach Ware will announce the winner of three team awards. These awards are the Wolverine of the Week, the Student-Athlete of the Week, and the Overcomer of the week.

The Student-Athlete of the Week Award will go to the Wolverine who represents the team's winning approach in the classroom and on the court. The Overcomer Award will go to the player who represents the team's spirit in overcoming adversity on and off the court.
