DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team opened the 2019-20 season in impressive fashion with a tough win over No. 2 Lindenwood University Thursday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
The No. 4 Wolverines were led by a senior goaltender Thomas Proudlock, who made several spectacular saves, including two diving back across the cage to hold off a potent Lion offense and lift UM-Dearborn to a 3-1 win.
Lindenwood outshot the Wolverines 12-1 in the third, but the one UM-Dearborn shot on goal was an empty-net tally for Michael Hodgson to secure the win.
Proudlock finished with 37 saves in the win, as UM-Dearborn was outshot 38-10.
The Wolverines host Lindenwood for the series finale on Homecoming at 7 pm Friday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free 'born BLUE T-shirt. A pregame tailgate with free food, games, and entertainment will take place starting at 5 pm at the South CASL Field adjacent to the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
