DEARBORN, Mich. – University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball recently completed the 2021 season and the team received several honors from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference on Thursday.
Tyler Koons and Antonio Carta were named to the All-WHAC Second Team. Koons finished the shortened season with a 4-1 record in 27 innings of work, with a 2.93 ERA and striking out 34. Carta had a strong season at the plate with a .337 batting average, a team-leading five home runs, 22 RBIs, and .600 slugging percentage. Carta also drew a team-leading 22 walks.
Other honors for the Wolverines included Andrew Capone, Garrett Davis, Clayton Durst, John Dyda, Jason LaForest, Nathan Mack, Evan Morin, Max Tomaszewski, Tyler Troyer, Cameron Tubbs, and David Zylka being named to the WHAC All-Academic team, while Capone was also named to the Champion of Character Team.
