DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team hosted No. 9 Spring Arbor University in a nonconference contest Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
The Wolverines opened with a 12-7 lead, but the Cougars took control midway through the first half and went on for a 72-51 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 3-12 overall.
Xavier Crofford led the Wolverines with 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting, adding five rebounds. Jalen Paul and Cody Kegley each finished with nine points, while Jason Gigliotti added seven points and six rebounds.
The Wolverines shot 18-of-62 from the field, 6-of-21 from deep and 9-of-12 from the line.
Tom Hamilton led the Cougars with 14 points and six assists, while Jeff Beckman added nine points and 11 rebounds.
UM-Dearborn returns to league play with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup with Aquinas College at 3 pm Saturday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
