Face Offs Won
BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team returned home to take on Concordia University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday at the Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse in Beverly Hills, Mich.
The Wolverines (RV) scored five unanswered goals in the first half and held off a rally by the Cardinals early in the third quarter to earn a 17-8 win over Concordia, a first-year program. The win moves the Wolverines to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in WHAC action.
James Hatch (FR/Pasadena, Calif.) continues to lead the Wolverine offense, scoring five goals in the win, while adding three assists. Hatch took 17 shots and now has 17 goals on the season. Matthew Rosteck (JR/Commerce Township, Mich.) had his best performance of the season scoring five goals and dishing out four assists.
Devon Callaghan (SO/Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) increased his season goal total to 17 with three against the Cardinals and added three assists.
The Wolverines won the ground-ball battle 58-42, led by nine from Matthew Daratony (JR/Hartland, Mich.), while Hatch added six. Jon Chaffee (FR/Hartland, Mich.) (2-1) got the start and earned his second win of the season, making six saves.
UM-Dearborn has two weeks off until a matchup with Indiana Tech at 3 p.m. on March 25 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
