WOLVERINES SET PERSONAL RECORDS AT CALVIN INVITE

The Wolverines saw a pair of freshmen lead the way, setting personal bests in the large collegiate meet that included several NAIA programs, with a strong group of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference member schools. Both teams finished 15th, with the total number of men's teams at 22 and the women at 23.

In her first 5K race for the Wolverines, freshman Victoria Hebda (FR/Trenton, MI) led her team with a personal record time of 19 minutes, 25.6 seconds. Hebda crossed the line in 42nd place, the top finish for UM-Dearborn.

Senior Megan Seccombe (SR/Dearborn, MI), also had a strong run, taking 62nd in a time of 19:54.5. Freshman Camryn Zurawski (FR/Livonia, MI) was 113th in 20:49.8, while Kayla Dela Cruz (SO/Canton, MI) and Julia Cercone (FR/Livonia, MI) took times of 20:56.8 and 21:28.9, respectively.

Freshman Josh Mussen (FR/Livonia, MI) built on his strong debut last week with a good run in his first 8K for the Wolverines. He set a personal record with a time of 27:12.5, finishing 73rd. Fellow freshman Josh Williams (FR/Saint Clair, MI) finished close behind Mussen in 85th with a time of 27:21.6. Senior Sean Nowak (SR/Trenton, MI) was 92nd in 27:31.2, while Henry Robertson (FR/Berkley, MI) and Christopher Silva were 158th and 188th, respectively. 

The Wolverines head to Michigan State University for the annual Spartan Invitational Friday in East Lansing, Mich.
