MUSSEN SETS UM-DEARBORN RECORD AT NAIA CHALLENGE

Freshman Josh Mussen (FR/Livonia, MI) had a record day, posting a program-best time for the UM-Dearborn men in the 8k race. Mussen led the way for the Wolverines, crossing the line in 35th place in a time of 26:28.94. Mussen's effort led the Wolverines to a 14th-place showing out of 24 teams in the all NAIA event. 

Freshman Josh Williams was next to finish for UM-Dearborn, finishing 80th with a time of 27:32.11, while senior Sean Nowak (SR/Trenton, MI) was close behind in 83rd in 27:38.92. Chris Silva (FR/Novi, MI) was 98th in 28:01.55 and Henry Robertson (FR/Berkley, MI) was 108th in 28:24.41.

The Wolverine women finished 14th out of 21 qualifying teams, led by senior Megan Seccombe in the 5k race. Seccombe was 55th in 19:52.53. Freshman Victoria Hebda was 77th with a time of 20:18.84, while freshman Julia Cercone was 81st in 20:26.27. Kayla Dela Cruz and Camryn Zurawski were 88th and 112th, respectively.

The Wolverines compete at the 2017 WHAC Championships Nov. 4 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
