Kate Hagenbuch enters her first year with the University of Michigan-Dearborn athletic department as the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance and Operations in 2016-17. She oversees athletics compliance with NAIA and conference rules and regulations. Hagenbuch serves as the chair of the Athletics Compliance Committee, working with the offices of Admissions and Orientation, Financial Aid, and the University's Registrar.
Hagenbuch joined UM-Dearborn from Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Mich., after three years as the school's Director of NCAA Compliance and Student-Athlete Services. She also oversaw academic advising and tutoring for MTU's student athletes.
Prior to joining MTU, Hagenbuch held several roles at Finlandia University, including academic coordinator, advisor on the student-athlete advisory committee and instructed a sports marketing course in the school's International School of Business. She was also the school's men's and women's cross country coach.
Hagenbuch graduated from Michigan Tech in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She competed for the Huskies' cross country and track and field teams. Hagenbuch received her master's degree in sport management in 2009 from Ithaca College in New York. She worked as a graduate assistant in the athletics compliance office at Ithaca.
