Amanda Tackaberry enters her fifth season as an assistant coach for the Wolverines varsity softball team.
In her first season with the Wolverines, Tackaberry helped UM-Dearborn to a 20-18 record and 10-10 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
Tackaberry comes to UM-Dearborn after coaching three years of travel softball where she won multiple state titles, three years of high school varsity softball, where she won two district championships, and one year at the college level.
Tackaberry played four years of varsity high school softball and won one district championship. She was also named team MVP and Defensive Player of the Year during her senior season. She later went on to play two years at St. Clair County Community College, winning Defensive Player of the Year in her first season.
A native of St. Clair, Mich., Tackaberry graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor’s degree in science in 2014.
