Bio
A dedicated basketball enthusiast, Coach Abbas brings a wealth of experience both on and off the court. A 2022 graduate of Crestwood High School, he made a significant impact as a two-time First Team All-Conference player and Conference MVP. Renowned for his sharpshooting skills, he set records for the most three-pointers made in a game and a season during his high school career.
Coach Abbas began his collegiate career at Adrian College, showcasing his talents for one season before transferring to the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he played for an additional year. His journey through these programs reflects his dedication and versatility, contributing to his deep understanding of the game.
In coaching, Abbas has achieved notable success. He served as an Assistant Coach at Crestwood High School and then led the Prospect Elite AAU travel team as Head Coach for two years. These roles sharpened his skills in player development, game strategy, and team management, preparing him for the collegiate level.
Last year, in his first season with the Wolverines, Abbas made an immediate impact on the program. He built strong player–coach relationships rooted in trust and accountability, scouted opponents extensively to give the team a competitive edge, and emphasized creating a family-type environment that helped unite the group on and off the court. His commitment to preparation and culture quickly became a defining part of his coaching approach.
Now entering year two, Coach Abbas continues to apply his knowledge of the game, sharp eye for detail, and passion for mentorship to support the Wolverines’ success and development.
