Wolverines sweep Warriors, take season series

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team returned to action Wednesday night, playing host to the Rochester University Warriors in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up.

Rochester University didn't make it easy, however the Wolverines would grind out a three-set sweep of the Warriors 30-28, 25-17, 28-26.

The win completes the season-sweep of Rochester University, moving UM-Dearborn to 7-19 overall and 4-10 in the WHAC.

Leading the Wolverines was Kristin Maust with a match-high 17 kills, while Gina Giacomini would add 12 of her own. Sabrina Giacomini would record a career-high 41 assists, while Kenzie Mertz would 19 digs.

The Warriors were led by Olivia Francis and Olivia Pannecouk, both recording nine kills.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Cornerstone University at 1pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.
