RIVERVIEW, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, hosting Cornerstone University at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
The Wolverines surrendered a goal late in the first half, which proved to be the eventual game-winner, as UM-Dearborn fell 4-0 to the Golden Eagles. The loss drops the Wolverines to 5-7-1 on the season and 2-5-0 in the WHAC.
Kachinvya Silwamba got the scoring started with 1:53 remaining in the first half to give CU the lead heading into the break. Wolverine goalkeeper Alex Siluk made six saves prior to the goal to keep UM-Dearborn in the game. In the second half, the Golden Eagles scored three more times in a 17-minute span.
The Wolverines were outshot 14-3 as Siluk made total 10 saves. Jack Barnett, Jacob Drzyzga and Mohamad Anani each had a shot for UM-Dearborn.
The Wolverines will honor three senior athletes against the University of Northwestern Ohio on Senior Night at 7 pm Saturday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.
