DEARBORN, Mich. -- In a challenging league face-off, the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team was overtaken by the Lourdes Gray Wolves on Saturday (Oct. 26) at Crestwood High School. Despite a solid defensive effort, the Wolverines fell short, concluding the game with a 1-3 defeat.
The first half concluded with Lourdes leading by a single goal, setting a tchallengingpace for the Wolverines. Lourdes maintained their momentum, with Sophia Larabee, who ultimately secured the game-winning goal, and Taylir Lynam and Rylie Jones, each finding the back of the net.
UM-Dearborn's lone goal was scored late in the clash by Ruth Windeler, assisted by the Wolverines' resilient spirit. On the defensive end, Julia Tasker made a commendable effort in goal, making 13 saves throughout the match. Her counterpart, Isabelle Shaw, also contributed between the posts in the latter stages of the event.
This game brings UM-Dearborn's season record to 2-13-3 overall and 2-9-1 in the league. Despite the challenges of this season, the performance against a strong Lourdes team demonstrated moments of potential and determination.
