BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn lacrosse team opened up the 2021 season against Aquinas College in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon in Beverly Hills, Mich.
The Saints offense exploded in the second quarter as they took a big lead into the half and never looked back winning, 21-5. Leading the way for the Wolverines was freshman Bryce Washington with four goals in the game, while fellow freshman Braxton Kern added one as well. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 0-1 on the season and 0-1 in the WHAC.
John Chaffee and Jay Rupnow split time in goal for the Wolverines making eight and four saves, respectively. Aquinas held the edge in face-offs, 16-13 and ground balls , 23-19.
UM-Dearborn returns to action against Madonna University at 1pm Wednesday in Livonia, Mich.
