FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Indiana Tech on the road in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action Friday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The Wolverines hung with the Warriors in the first set and led 20-18, but Indiana Tech scored the final three points of the open frame and went on for the sweep 25-22, 25-19, 25-13. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 3-21 overall and 2-13 in the WHAC.
Gina Giacomini and Bronte Michura led the UM-Dearborn offense with seven kills each, while Sabrina Giacomini and Daniella Barile each finished with 11 assists. Mallory Lynch had a team-high 10 digs.
Olivia Niekamp had a match-high nine kills to lead the Warriors.
UM-Dearborn returns to action against the University of Northwestern Ohio at 1 pm Saturday in Lima, Ohio.
