DEARBORN, Mich. -- On an emotional day where the University of Michigan-Dearborn lacrosse team honored five seniors who played their last home game in the Maize & Blue on Saturday (Apr. 13). The Wolverines had their toughest matchup to date as they took on the No. 6 Concordia Cardinals. The Cardinals entered the contest unbeaten in WHAC play. Concordia took the contest 16-3.
The Wolverines were held scoreless in the first quarter as Concordia jumped out to a 9-0 lead after 15 minutes. Mason Loudermilk ended the scoring drought for the Wolverines after he scored on the man advantage at the 12:57 mark in the second quarter. CUAA scored twice more to end the half, leading 11-1. CUAA opened up the second half with four unanswered goals before Jeremy Fancett answered off of a Brodie Mahmud assist at 5:09 in the third.
UM-Dearborn again scored to begin the fourth as Joseph Atherall scored an unassisted goal at 12:26. CUAA scored once more to conclude the 16-3 final. Jack Meyers and Owen Reed split time in the net. Meyers made 19 saves, while Reed made eight saves on 13 shots.
