BYRON CENTER, Mich. – The No. 5 University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team completed a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference series sweep over Aquinas College Saturday in Byron Center, Mich.
After the Saints took an early lead, UM-Dearborn scored six unanswered goals and held on for a 7-3 win to move to 6-1-1 overall and 5-1-0 in the WHAC.
Nic LaBurn led the Wolverines with a hat trick, while Billy Brock finished with four assists. Justin Dunn, Dawson Richard, Anthony Davis, and Brandon Carr-Ansah each added a goal for the Wolverines.
Three-time defending WHAC Defensive Player of the Week Thomas Proudlock made 30 saves for UM-Dearborn.
The Wolverines step out of league play for a matchup of top ACHA Division I programs with a two-game series next weekend at No. 6 Ohio University. The series opens at 7:30 pm Friday in Athens, Ohio.
