Madonna Sweeps Doubleheader from Michigan-Dearborn
Michigan-Dearborn battled in its Sunday WHAC doubleheader but was unable to keep pace with Madonna, as the Crusaders claimed both games to complete the sweep.

LIVONIA, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball returned to conference play Sunday afternoon but dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Madonna.
Game One: Madonna 7, Michigan-Dearborn 1
The Wolverines struck first in the opener, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Max Granatstein doubled to start the rally and later came home when Beck Kjeldbjerg drove him in on a groundout.
Madonna quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning, plating three runs to take control. RBI singles from Donovan Thompson, Luke Spicer, and Gus Simon helped the Crusaders move in front 3-1.
The Crusaders added to the lead in the third inning when Jack Nilson delivered a two-run single, extending the advantage to 5-1. Madonna continued to capitalize on opportunities, adding a run on a wild pitch in the fourth and another RBI single from Simon in the fifth to make it 7-1.
Michigan-Dearborn recorded five hits in the contest, with Kjeldbjerg leading the way with two hits and an RBI. Granatstein, Brady Dion, and Gavin Hollon each added a hit for the Wolverines.
On the mound, Luis Gallardo took the loss after allowing six runs over 3.2 innings, though only two were earned. Gavin Hampton worked 2.1 innings in relief and struck out two.
Game Two: Madonna 11, Michigan-Dearborn 0
Madonna carried its momentum into the second game of the doubleheader, pulling away for an 11-0 victory.
The Crusaders opened the scoring in the second inning when Jason Serafinchon doubled to drive in the first run. Madonna added another run in the third on a solo home run from Aamir Mitchell to extend the lead to 2-0.
The Crusaders continued to build the advantage in the fourth and fifth innings, using a combination of timely hitting and Michigan-Dearborn errors to push the lead to 7-0.
Madonna broke the game open in the sixth inning, scoring four runs highlighted by an RBI single from Serafinchon and a two-run single from Kooper Etheridge.
Michigan-Dearborn was limited to three hits in the contest, with James Forner collecting two and Granatstein adding another.
Zack Lemke started on the mound for the Wolverines and allowed three runs across three innings. Michigan-Dearborn used several relievers the rest of the way, with Ben Cardella, John Stavola, Kage Little, and Mari Hegenberger-Ellars each seeing time on the mound.
