Wolverines Compete at Live in Lou Classic
Both teams finished in 17th on Saturday (Oct. 4).
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's and women's cross country teams continued their seasons at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday, with both squads competing in the Silver Division races against a strong mix of NAIA and NCAA programs.
The Wolverine women placed 17th out of 23 teams, finishing with a total time of 1:53:41 and an average of 22:44 per runner. Senior Elena Wheeler led the way, finishing 26th overall with a time of 20:18.2, followed by Kaitlyn Bourque in 21:03.7. Itzel Huerta-Martinez (23:05.2), Tariyah Dawson (23:31.6), and Aarya Dhakal (25:43.3)** rounded out the team's scoring**, while Elizabeth Lambert clocked in at 26:13.0.
On the men's side, UM-Dearborn placed 17th in the Silver Division 8K with a total time of 2:28:22 and an average of 29:40. Senior Brett Leidal paced the Wolverines with a strong run, finishing 58th overall in 27:55.5. Fellow senior Anderson Gattis followed close behind in 63rd with a time of 28:05.3, while John Borowicz (29:27.7) secured a 120th-place finish. Seniors Isaac Tiernan (30:58.0) and Adam Haag (31:56.3) rounded out the scoring lineup for UM-Dearborn.
