Toth, Richter Lead Wolverines Through Opening Rounds of WHAC Championships
Men's Golf played the first two rounds of the WHAC Championships on Monday (Apr. 20).
YORKTOWN, Ind. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team opened play at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Spring Championships with a steady two-round performance, highlighted by strong individual showings from Tyler Toth and Luke Richter.
UM-Dearborn posted a solid opening round, led by Richter's impressive 76 (+4), which included a one-under 35 on the front nine. Toth followed closely with a 77 (+5), delivering a consistent round that kept the Wolverines competitive. Jason Cuppari added an 82 (+10), while Will Barrett rounded out the team scoring with an 85 (+13) as UM-Dearborn established its footing in the tournament.
In round two, the Wolverines saw continued consistency from Toth, who paced the lineup with a 79 (+7), matching Cameron Grant for the team's low score of the day. Grant rebounded nicely after his opening round, shaving nine strokes off his first-round total to post a 79 (+7). Richter added an 84 (+12), while Barrett contributed an 87 (+15) to complete the team scoring.
Across the two rounds, Toth emerged as UM-Dearborn's top performer with a 36-hole total of 156 (+12), followed closely by Richter at 160 (+16). Grant showed resilience with a strong second round to sit at 167 (+23), while Cuppari (174, +30) and Barrett (172, +28) rounded out the Wolverines' lineup.
