Wolverines Wrap Up WHAC Championships with Steady Final Round Effort
The Wolverines wrapped up their season at the WHAC Championships on Tuesday (Apr. 21)
YORKTOWN, Ind. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team concluded play at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Spring Championships with a competitive final round, highlighted by consistent performances across the lineup.
UM-Dearborn was led in the final round by both Will Barrett and Tyler Toth, who each carded rounds of 83 (+11) to pace the Wolverines. Barrett delivered a balanced scorecard, bouncing back with a strong 39 (+3) on the back nine, while Toth matched his total with steady play throughout the day.
Luke Richter followed closely with an 84 (+12), maintaining his position as one of UM-Dearborn's most reliable contributors across the tournament. Jason Cuppari and Cameron Grant each posted rounds of 90 (+18) to round out the Wolverines' scoring in the final round.
Over the course of the three-round event, Toth finished as UM-Dearborn's top performer, showcasing consistency with rounds of 77, 79, and 83 to post a 54-hole total of 239 (+23). Richter followed with a 244 (+28), while Barrett closed strong to finish at 255 (+39). Grant (257, +41) and Cuppari (264, +48) rounded out the Wolverines' competitors.
The Wolverines demonstrated resilience throughout the championships, highlighted by consistent scoring from their top performers and the ability to respond across all three rounds as they wrapped up competition in the WHAC Spring Championships.
As a part of the WHAC Postseason awards, Cameron Grant was named the team's Champions of Character recipient. An honor awarded to an individual on each team who resembles the five core character values that the NAIA embraces.
