Four Wolverines Earn WHAC All-Conference Honors, Gearhart Adds All-Defensive Recognition
The University of Michigan-Dearborn softball team placed four student-athletes on the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Second Team All-Conference list, highlighting a season defined by consistent production and all-around contributions. Senior Kendyl Gearhart headlined the group, also earning WHAC All-Defensive Team honors.
DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn softball program was well represented in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference postseason awards, as four Wolverines secured Second Team All-Conference recognition. Kendyl Gearhart, Braylin Grueter, Ava Craft, and Maegen Boehm were each honored for their standout performances throughout the 2026 campaign.
Gearhart emerged as one of the conference's most complete players, leading the Wolverines offensively with a .378 batting average, seven home runs, and 30 RBIs. She also posted an impressive 1.138 OPS, underscoring her impact at the plate. Defensively, Gearhart was equally dominant, pacing the team with a .984 fielding percentage en route to All-Defensive Team honors.
Grueter played a key role as a dynamic table-setter for the Maize & Blue, finishing the season with a .327 batting average. She led the team with nine stolen bases while adding 24 runs scored and 32 hits, consistently creating opportunities at the top of the lineup.
Craft delivered a well-rounded offensive season, batting .299 with 29 hits and 12 RBIs. She added a .403 slugging percentage and six stolen bases, providing both consistency and versatility in the Wolverines' lineup.
Boehm anchored the pitching staff while also contributing offensively. In the circle, she recorded a 3.71 ERA with 11 wins across 132 innings pitched, adding nine complete games and two saves. At the plate, Boehm hit .261 with two home runs and 10 RBIs, showcasing her value as a two-way contributor.
Claire Muehlbrandt was named the team's Champion of Character recipient, an award given to an individual on each WHAC team who embodies the five core character values the NAIA embraces.
