Dearborn, MI - The volleyball team lost in a non-conference match Monday night to the Rochesrer College Warriors 3-2. The loss for Wolverines, (7-17, 1-4) was especially painful since they had the Warriors down 2-0 after two sets. The Warriors, (16-16), fought hard to win the third set 25-23 and then cruised to victory winning sets three and four 25-13 and 15-11.
The serving game proved to be the difference. Michigan-Dearborn committed 13 service errors while having 11 service aces. On the other end of the spectrum, Rochester College had 12 aces while committing only 6 service errors. Seniors Nia Martin and Danielle Campbell led the Wolverines with 17 kills and 15 kills respectively. Campbell only made 4 attack errors in her 26 total attacks. Senior setter Emily Tjapkes had 49 assists in the loss.
The volleyball team travels to Grand Rapids on Wednesday, October 9th, to take on the Cornerstone Golden Eagles at 7:00pm.
