Dearborn, MI - The volleyball finished the WHAC regular season with a three set loss to the Aquinas Saints on Wednesday night. The loss for the Wolverines makes them the 12th seed in the WHAC Tournament, which begins Wednesday November 13th. Aquinas (23-9, 7-4) dominated the match winning 25-16, 25-15, 25-18. The Saints had 42 kills as a team compared to 26 that the Wolverines had.
Michigan-Dearborn was led offensively by seniors Danielle Campbell and Brittany Yanos, who each had 7 kills. Freshman Danielle Horvath had 10 digs in the loss. With the loss, it means the two teams will square off in the first round of the WHAC Playoffs Wedneday, November 13th at 7:00pm at Aquinas. Aquinas is the 5th seed in the tournament. Undefeated and 4th ranked Madonna University won the regular season title going a perfect 11-0 in the WHAC and 35-0 overall. The winner of Wednesday's match between Michigan-Dearborn and Aquinas will play the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers, who are the fourth seed. That match will take place on Friday November 15th at 2:15pm at Madonna University. All quarter-final, semi-final, and final matches will be played at Madonna.
Michigan-Dearborn will be play its final regular season match this Friday, November 8th, at 6:00pm against Lawrence Tech University. The match is a non-conference match to be played at Lawrence Tech.
