LIVONIA, Mich. – Despite a standout performance in goal from Julia Tasker, the University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team fell 1–0 to Madonna University on Saturday (Oct. 11) morning in WHAC play.
The Crusaders (6-5-3, 4-1-2 WHAC) struck just 21 seconds into the match when Lillian Hayter converted on a pass from Molly Cote, giving Madonna the early advantage. From there, Tasker and the Wolverine defense tightened up, keeping the hosts off the board for the remaining 89 minutes despite facing heavy offensive pressure. Tasker finished the day with 14 saves on 15 shots on goal, matching her season high and keeping UM-Dearborn within striking distance throughout.
Offensively, Mallory Botten led the Wolverines (2-9-3, 1-4-2 WHAC) with three shots and two on target, while Nadia Saab added another attempt. UM-Dearborn created a few promising opportunities late, earning three corner kicks, but couldn't find the equalizer.
