HOWELL, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 3-3 draw on the road Saturday afternoon against Cleary University in WHAC action.
Junior forward Mallory Botten led the Wolverines with a standout performance, scoring twice in the first half to give UM-Dearborn a 2-1 lead at the break. Her first goal came in the 36th minute to level the score, followed by a go-ahead strike in the 42nd minute assisted by Macy Burton.
After Cleary netted two goals early in the second half to regain the lead, Talia List delivered the equalizer for UM-Dearborn in the 76th minute, finding the back of the net unassisted to secure the draw.
The Wolverines outshot Cleary 18-15, including a 7-9 edge in shots on goal. Botten paced the attack with 11 shots (four on target), while Burton added two shots and an assist. In goal, Julia Tasker made six saves over 90 minutes to preserve the result.
With the tie, UM-Dearborn moves to 1-7-2 overall and 0-2-1 in WHAC play, while Cleary sits at 4-5-1 (0-2-1 WHAC).
