DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Goshen College (Ind.) on Saturday (Sept. 13) in nonconference action at Gabriel Richard High School.
After a scoreless opening half, the Wolverines broke through in the 58th minute when Valentina Farran scored her first goal of the season, finishing unassisted to give UM-Dearborn a 1-0 advantage.
Goshen found the equalizer in the 80th minute as Isaura Toledo converted off a feed from Sophia Yoder, leveling the match at 1-1.
UM-Dearborn controlled much of the offensive pressure, outshooting the Maple Leafs 14-5, including 8-5 in shots on goal. Farran led the Wolverines with three shots on frame, while Mallory Botten and Talia List each added multiple chances.
In net, Julia Tasker recorded four saves for UM-Dearborn, while Goshen's Aina Lopez made seven stops to preserve the draw.
