University of Michigan-Dearborn Names Giorgi Nozadze Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Nozadze was named the fourth women's soccer head coach in program history on Thursday (Mar. 19).
DEARBORN, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Giorgi Nozadze as the new head coach of the women's soccer program. Nozadze becomes the next leader of the Wolverines, bringing a strong background in player development, tactical acumen, and program building to Dearborn.
"We are excited to welcome Giorgi to our department," said Director of Athletics & Recreation Bryan Earl. "Throughout the search process, it was clear that his vision for building a competitive, student-athlete-centered program aligned with our department's mission. His energy, attention to detail, and commitment to development will have an immediate impact on our women's soccer program."
Nozadze comes to UM-Dearborn after serving as the head coach at the University of Michigan-Flint since 2018, where he led the program's development and competitiveness over multiple seasons. In addition to his collegiate experience, Nozadze has been actively involved at the high school level, serving as the head boys and girls soccer coach at Chelsea High School since 2023. Prior to that role, he was the head boys and girls soccer coach at Ypsilanti Community Public Schools from 2018 to 2021, where he helped build foundational programs and develop student-athletes both on and off the field.
Across his coaching career, Nozadze has demonstrated a commitment to building structured, disciplined teams while emphasizing technical development and a strong team culture. His experience at both the collegiate and high school levels has allowed him to develop a well-rounded approach to recruiting, player progression, and program management.
Nozadze will begin his duties immediately, focusing on recruiting, roster development, and preparing the Wolverines for the upcoming season.
