FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2025 season – and the first under new head coach Chris Stevanovic – with a 2-1 victory over Great Lakes Christian College on Wednesday night at the Farmington Hills Soccer Complex.
The Wolverines struck early, as sophomore defender Diego Beaman found the back of the net in the 19th minute off an assist from Mohammedbakker Ibrahim to give UM-Dearborn a 1-0 lead. Beaman added his second tally of the match in the 59th minute, this time unassisted, doubling the Wolverines' advantage.
Great Lakes Christian pulled one back late in the 87th minute on a goal from Luis Ventura, but the UM-Dearborn backline held firm to secure the victory.
Beaman led all players with five shots, including four on target, while Liam Rodriguez added two shots on goal. In net, Mohammad Bader made one save to earn the win in his UM-Dearborn debut.
The Wolverines outshot the Crusaders 12-4 and held a 3-3 advantage in corner kicks.
