UM-Dearborn Dominates Alma College 19–1 in Season-Opening Rout
A relentless offensive attack and stifling defense propelled the University of Michigan-Dearborn men’s lacrosse team to a commanding 19–1 victory over Alma College on Saturday afternoon.
BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team opened its season in emphatic fashion, rolling past Alma College 19–1 on February 7 to improve to 1–0 on the year.
UM-Dearborn wasted no time asserting control, scoring four goals in the first quarter and adding seven more in the second to take an 11–0 lead into halftime. The Wolverines controlled possession throughout the opening half, winning faceoffs and capitalizing on man-up opportunities to keep Alma on its heels.
The offensive surge continued in the third quarter, as UM-Dearborn added three more goals while limiting Alma to its lone tally of the afternoon. The Wolverines closed the game with five goals in the fourth quarter to put an exclamation point on the decisive win.
Cole Rosenwald and Aidan Meyers led the Wolverines with three goals apiece, while Jeremy Fancett and Cooper Hallwood each added three goals as well. Gabriel De La Paz contributed a goal and three assists, and Shane Marion chipped in two goals and an assist.
UM-Dearborn outshot Alma College 42–18 and held a 30–24 edge in ground balls. The Wolverines were also efficient on special teams, converting five man-up goals, and won 15 of 21 faceoffs.
Defensively, UM-Dearborn limited Alma to just eight shots on goal. Owen Reed earned the win in goal, stopping seven shots over 60 minutes of action.
The dominant performance sets a strong tone for UM-Dearborn as the Wolverines begin the 2026 campaign.
